The opening track is skippable. Paired with the flat-looking animation, the song itself is just as boring. There really isn't anything more to talk about here.

I honestly don't remember much about the ending song's animation. Maybe that's because it's very forgettable, but I won't talk about that aspect. The ending song itself is alright. Definitely more unique than most, partly because the band that they chose to make it is quite niche. I really like the piano in the song, though.

### Thoughts

I Want to End This Love Game is yet another "love is war" anime about two main characters who can't force themselves to confess their love to the other. Usually this type of anime would have a conflict of some sort, but this one really half-asses its conflict to the point that it just doesn't make sense. I'll just get right into it: the setting is almost perfect for them. I'm sorry Yukiya, but there really is barely anything wrong with you. He's a perfectly fine guy with perfectly fine looks and personality but his self esteem is so low that he can't say "I love you" to the girl she loves. Like, come on, you have a well-off family with basically no other problems in your life. What more can you ask for? I'm trashing Yukiya, but that doesn't mean Miku's character isn't also horrible. While Yukiya can be cunning in the love game at times, I felt like Miku was the more cunning one, after all. I genuinely do not get why Miku can't just confess. She already played the love game to the fullest to the point that they kissed because of the Pocky Game. Oh my God, it's because she doesn't feel like Yukiya doesn't see her as a girl? You're kidding? That is not the case at all ever in the story. Yukiya is always so skittish around her to the point that he does some really embarrassing things that I won't talk about. Nothing ever makes sense in this anime.

To talk about the entire story as a whole, it's the Mbappe special: for example, nothing. I Want to End This Love Game prioritizes silly blush-inducing antics between Yukiya and Miku that amounts to zero character growth. The antics themselves are good, if not amazing, but come on, I'd like to see something more, PLEASE. To add on to that, the pacing of this anime is lightning fast. The episodes barely flow into one another, and it almost feels like watching highlights of an anime. Other than that, the supporting cast is basically nonexistent? How can an anime do basically nothing with its main characters and also do absolutely nothing with its side characters? That's insane.

The animation is inconsistently alright, too. It's just… okay, that's it really. There are no standout moments, nor are there any standout character designs. The background art is just fine, too. Incomprehensibly uninteresting.

Fortunately this anime is saved by… nothing. No, there won't be a paragraph about the parts that I liked. They were sparse and short. This anime was a waste of time, and I don't even know why I watched it weekly. 6/10 Mid-Slop.
